It’s been years since we visited Capilano Suspension Bridge in North Vancouver. The park is beautiful and primeval and it’s hard to believe the bustle of the city is not far away. We had no idea that every holiday season since 2005 a million lights are strung up over the Douglas fir trees to create a surreal light show – best seen after dark of course!

It is a bit pricey  – $42.95 per adult, with discounts for seniors and students – but we highly recommend that you visit! Go at sundown as the lights are just coming on. Be sure to walk over the bridge to the other side so that you can enjoy the majority of the light displays reflecting on the water pools. There is a great walk around the mountain side as well. The pics don’t do it justice, of course, because my iPhone doesn’t take great pics at night. The Canyon Lights exhibit usually goes from late November to late January.
